Product and warranty service terms and conditions:
- For product and warranty services, please bring along the product together with proof of purchase (original copy of purchase receipt) to our service centre.
For computer related products:
- A product is deemed to be successfully repaired if its performance is restored to meet original equipment specifications, and with the operating system functional.
- Customers are responsible for the backup of all data and programs before submitting a product for service. ECT does not provide any form of data/program backup service and shall not be liable for any data/program loss on the product while being serviced.
- All custom software/hardware settings will be reset to factory defaults at service.
- Please remove and save all accessories that are not part of the main unit before submitting the unit for service.
- We reserve the right to refuse to render warranty and/or repair services to products that are suspected to contain illegal or unauthorized software.
- All replaced parts shall remain property of ECT and are not returnable to customers.
- All products (unless otherwise stated and except sales items) distributed or sold through us carry a twelve month limited warranty against manufacturing defects and twelve months of technical support. The product warranty claim, once confirmed by our service department as valid, covers all parts and labor costs. In the event that the product is unserviceable, we serve the right to replace the defective product with a fully functional product of the same model or an upgraded one. Customers agree that the replaced part or product is not returnable and shall remain the property of ECT.
- No warranty services will be rendered for products without a valid sales invoice or receipt. In such event, customers must file a loss report for investigation at our ECT Service Centre in person. Relevant services will be rendered once the validity of the purchase can be verified.
- Customers should contact our service centre if no notifications are given after one week of surrendering a product for service. Customers are also required to collect a serviced product within 180 days of the service order issuing date. Failure to do so will mean that customers have given up the product and ECT has the sole authority to handle or dispose of the product with no liability to the customer.
- ECT will not be held responsible for any form of damages or losses incurred by products that have been modified and abused, or by circumstances outside of ECT’s control (e.g. delays and non-repairable products).
- We reserve the rights to refuse to warrant a product under the following circumstances:
- Out of warranty products
- Products that have been tampered with or serviced by non-ECT authorized persons
- Products that are discontinued and/or obsolete for over 12-months, announced on ours or the manufacturers’ websites (refer to Note 1)
- Products that do not carry valid serial numbers, or products that have serial numbers tampered with/removed/not readable
- Problems arising from normal and natural wear-and-tear
- Problems arising from accidents or abuse
- Problems arising from the use of non-original accessories
- Problems arising from products failures caused by water or liquid spillage/entry
- Parallel import, or grey products (refer to Note 2)
Note 1: Discontinued products are products that have approached their end-of-life commercially. Customers are entitled to a maximum of one year or to the remaining period of warranty service (based on purchase or end-of-life announcement date, whichever is shorter).
Note 2: We strive to provide the best possible service to customers. Parallel import or grey product users many contact our technical service hotline 2708 7180, or email us at support@ect.com.hk for enquires about service details and charges for such products. |
